Mount Hol from Avshen Ascent

How to get to the trail: The best time to visit the area is from January to March. In order to reach the above mentioned ski trail, visitors should be take a taxi from Yerevan to Avshen village of Argatsotn marz, from where the ski trail starts. Please use taxies in which counters are installed. Taxies throughout Armenia are quite affordable.

Aragatsotn marz offers many ski trails. Especially Tukhmanuk Mount of Tsaghkunyats Mount from Melik village, Mount Hol from Charchakis village, Mount Kamar, etc.

This ski trail ascends the western side of Mount Hol from Avshen village. Beginning right from the village, skiers will reach the slopes of Mount Hol and will find a marked trail that makes navigation fairly straightforward. Mount Aragat, which is famous for its heavy snow and iconic peak, will be a source of excitement as you can see its snowy peak from the summit of Mount Hol. There, on the peak you can enjoy a dose of hot tea and organize the descent back to the village.

Avshen village is located in Aragatsotn marz on the southern slopes of the Tsaghkunyats Mount. The distance from the center is 49 km north, and the height from sea level is 2150m.

On the way back from the village, we recommend you visit Armenian Alphabet Monument, Saghmosavank, Hovhannavank Monasteries, the other sights of Aragatsotn marz.

Fauna: There are bears, wolves, and foxes in these places.
