Overview

This is a somewhat narrow chute, but there is still plenty of room for turning, especially if you know how to jump-turn (which I don't, but I still survived it.)

Need to Know

Don't forget your helmet. It's probably a good idea to go with somebody who can call for help if you blow a turn.

Description

You can reach the top of this chute directly or ascend it from the bottom (which is what I did after skiing Thurstan Peak: Northeast Face.)

As you boot higher into the chute, you get a better sense of what you're getting into. The chute looks scarier from the bottom, but looks a bit more manageable once you're in it.

The crux is near the top as that's where it's steepest. It mellows a bit in terms of steepness, but remains exciting until you get out onto the apron. From there, it's smooth sailing to the bottom.

Here are the chutes you can see after skiing into the cirque below Thurstan Peak's north-east face.
