Need to Know

This is dangerous avalanche terrain especially during the early season and after big storms. Check taosavalanchecenter.org and nnmae.org to find and share information.

Description

This is the most famous backcountry ski descent in the Taos backcountry. This straightforward, obvious line is a classic—a high alpine, wide open chute dropping down Lake Fork's north face from the summit. Most people access this line via the Lake Fork Primitive Route.
