Need to Know

This is extreme terrain with extreme weather. You MUST bring warm clothes, food, and water. This is a steep hike to the top and requires plenty of time. Avalanches are a threat in this area.

Description

This is the steepest line at Tuckerman's and almost certainly involves some airtime, especially in spring. It starts at the center of the large headwall above the obvious cliff band and goes straight down (more or less) to the ravine floor. For the brave, bold, and experts with good health insurance...

Lou Dawson gave all of Tuckerman Ravine a difficulty rating of III D10 R2 ( loudawson.com/rating-ski-de…).
