The line.

A look at the line. Taken on a Previous Trip by Justin Hodges.

Here are the chutes you can see after skiing into the cirque below Thurstan Peak's north-east face.

My ski tracks are just barely visible here, and not at all near the sky-line, but you can imagine where the ski line would be coming off the south shoulder of Francis Peak.

Looking up towards the ridge line just after you break through the trees.

The broken down cabin of Kenny Creek. You'll get odd looks going down the trail with skis on your back, and everyone will be asking you if you "reached the cabin." Tell them you got lost and couldn't find it.

Front and center is the Session's Peak Run: a beautiful line, and a beautiful face...

Me skiing down the Bountiful Peak run...and out of breath, because I suck.

My tracks on Mark's Ghost north (Flap-doodle south)

At this I'm super tired, so I'm not skiing very well.

Fun skiing on the way back.

Black Crows should pay me. Here I'm ready to start skiing back down Session's Ridge. Sure glad I didn't have to walk this section. You can ski it all the way as far as is shown in the photo, and then some, before you have to finally boot the rest of it.

My ski tracks down the second half of Session's Peak Run.

My ski tracks down the south shoulder of Session's Peak.

At the summit looking back the way I came. Not a very good shot as the convexity of the mountain here hides the technical part of the ridge.

Saw lots of bus-sized cornices. Stay well away from them! Also, it would have been so nice to have crampons here. I decided not to bring them last-minute. Dumb.

The crux of the ridge. Hard to do with skis on your back.

Your first view of Rocky Drainage (sometimes called Rocky Basin, but it's not really a basin.) The line I favored from the peak followed the drainage to the right side of the picture.

Skin away from the dirt/rocks, yes, but don't skin too close to the edge of the cornice line!
May 3, 2019 near Woods C…, UT
In spring, you boot the dirt until you find snow, then start skinning. You may have to transition between walking and skinning a few times before the snow becomes consistent.

Another small stretch of skiing that can be done while making your way back down Farmington Spine.

Summer down there, winter up here...except that it was hot as blazes the day this was taken.

Here are some turns I made while getting off the ridge-line above Rice/Mud bowls.
Apr 20, 2019 near Farmington, UT
This is the start of the daunting task of getting your self down the entire Farmington Spine. You can ski everything that is snow from here to the end of the snow, except for one spot needing a transition.

Looking down/across rice Bowl from just below the cornice line.
Apr 20, 2019 near Farmington, UT
This was taken after skiing a good way down Rice bowl. Lots of great ski terrain here; it's just so hard to access.

My tracks in Mud bowl. Notice the star was under the cornice line. Not a good place to be unless you believe things are not yet unstable.
