Accessing this line via the North Fork of Brackett Creek does cross private property. Be sure to consult onX's private/public land and make sure you are only staying on easement trails.

Overview

On the east shoulder of Ross Peak, there is a series of meadows, gullies, and forest openings that you can link into a continuous ski descent for over 1,000' of vertical descent. While some rollovers and terrain traps exist, the terrain is pretty manageable, and makes a good option for days when the avalanche danger is higher.

Description

Park at Brackett Creek trailhead, and take the road up the North Fork. Stay down along the creek, and before you hit the main east ridge of Ross, head north up a prominent gully, which then wraps around to the west.

Follow that gully, with a little bushwhacking, and you'll start to gain elevation until you hit the top of the East ridge. You can continue up the ridge a bit to ski the upper meadow, or transition at the top of the prominent meadow at the top of the gully. I find that the ski descent is more continuous and fun stopping at the top of the first meadow, but there is lots of terrain to explore in here!
