Description

From your line of descent off of Blue Sky head West up the Summit Lake drainage aiming for the large boulder in the flats behind the lake. If you hit it right you can skate most of this. From the boulder, scope out the ascent options to the Spaulding-Sawtooth Ridge. I found the most obvious couloir had a massive cornice as seen in the picture. I opted for a couloir to climbers left with an exit somewhat hidden on the approach but which seemed to have options. It was fairly steep requiring crampons and minor route finding choices.

Relaxing at the big boulder in the back of the drainage before the steep climb. I did NOT ascend the couloir in the picture due to the cornice. I opted for a couloir to the left

Looking south-east, entrance to the chute visible directly behind Evan, where the ridge drops off. Also stunning views of the Aprons!
