Overview

Steep, tight turns off Bierstat's summit immediately grab your attention. The angle eases and the line opens up more as you descend.

Need to Know

Late sunhit due to Blue Sky blocking early morning sun.

Description

From the Bierstat summit, identify Abyss Lake to the East. Ski slightly down the NE ridge that begins the summer traverse to Mt Blue Sky. Look for a tight couloir on your right that aims for Abyss Lake. Drop into that and descend to the lake. This is a fantastic line and the best option to claim a ski descent off of Bierstat as long as you have an exit plan in mind.
