This is technically in Alta's permit boundaries, but is "side country" and not currently patrolled, groomed, or managed. Best treat it like you are in the backcountry.

Need to Know

Choose skier's left or right early, otherwise you end up deep in Grizzly Gulch creek, schwacking and hiking back up.

Description

From the meadow in Grizzly Gulch near Chad's Gap, take the left turn towards Michigan City. Exact details change as people put in new skinners after heavy snow, but general head straight north, with some switchbacks. Great views of Mt. Superior as you get to the middle ridge of Michigan City.

Normally, the skinner hits the ridge, looker's left of the summit. Once there, you can choose to ski right towards Davenport Hill and Chad's Gap side of the creek, or trend left back to the Grizzly Gulch meadow towards Patsy Marley and Twin Lakes Pass.

This area faces south and is affected by the sun quickly. It is also fairly low angle.
