A wide bowl with many options that is great for backcountry skiers getting into the sport.

Gunks Jesse
Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry

Description

The main Butler Gulch ascent goes straight up the center of the valley, running alongside the creek. About a mile and a half up, the ascent splits east to Butler Gulch East, and west (right) to Butler Gulch West. Continue ascending to Butler Gulch West along an old road to the tree line and Butler Bowl.

Butler Gulch West is a wide open bowl with lots of descent options. Expect big smiles and nice intermediate backcountry lines.
