Overview

Enjoy this descent from the summit of Wheeler Mountain.

Need to Know

Double rope rappel (we used 60m and tag line). Bring tat/nuts.

Description

This descent is steep and committing, especially in the turns above the choke. Interesting rocks are exposed as you continue to the lower portion of the mountain.

As you get lower, start looking for an anchor, don't get too low or you'll miss them. A long double rope rappel over a steep ice gully lands you in a deep chasm. Very tight turns lead to the apron and a fast ski out.

History & Background

I don't know if this has been skied before, but I believe we were the first. Zander/Zander Spring 2015.
