Kaiser Peak via Potter Pass

The town of Lakeshore has a restaurant and bar that is open through the winter. A second, larger Sno-Park is across from the restaurant that may be better maintained. Watch for snowmobiles on the Kaiser Pass Road.

This is the ascent up to Kaiser Peak via Potter Pass starting at Kaiser Pass Road. This can be done in either a long one day or a two day trip.

Start up the groomed snowmobile trail past the first switch back. Just before the second switchback, head up the ridge line northeast. Stay on the ridge until you reach Potter Pass. If you decide to do this in two days, this is a good place to stop for the first night.

Continue by heading west along the ridge over a series of peaks until you climb above the tree line. From here, head northwest to Kaiser Peak. Watch for cornices and plan for exposure.

Descent options include heading south back to Lakeshore, or heading back to Potter Pass and skiing back to the Sno-Park.
