Description

Prior to undertaking this hike, remember that you're heading into uncontrolled and potentially dangerous avalanche terrain.

From the top of the Slushman's ski lift, either bootpack directly uphill to the Bridger Ridge, or take the ski traverse that heads of to the left from the lift (climber's left, skier's right). Gain the low point of the Ridge and then begin the ascent to Saddle Peak.

Prepare for potentially windy conditions and take note of the generally wind-scoured West side of the Ridge. Take into consideration that the snow that used to be on the scoured slopes had to go somewhere - and that somewhere is the slope you'll be skiing soon. Pay attention for wind slabs!

Gain the summit, gather your group, and plan your descent.

View of Saddle from top of Slaushmans. Hike runs up the ridge line the whole way. Most people ski right down the nose on the left.
