Guanella Pass North Approach

Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry

When driving up Guanella Pass from Georgetown in winter, the winter gate closure is roughly 2 miles and 800 feet one-way below the summer trailhead. There is ample parking at all times (one can simply park alongside the road if the parking lot is full, though it's not often full). Parking here is free as well, same as in summertime.

I'm mostly adding this ascent to PP so that maps are filled in - and to state that this would be the starting point for an approach to Square Top or Bierstadt's standard routes in winter.
