Description

The chutes are accessible from Tioga Pass Road or Horse Meadows. If starting from Horse Meadows, drive as far as possible up the road. Decent clearance and 4WD are recommended. This road is not plowed and will take a bit to melt out in the spring.

Skin from the parking on the road and then on the trail. Break from the trail and head for East Peak directly. Once you get to the base, you'll see a number of chutes on slightly different aspects. Skinning the bottom of the chutes is possible, but booting is required to reach the top. All are roughly the same angle.

The East Peak ridgeline is fairly mellow and topping out will allow for an easier transition. Ski back the way you came.
