Overview

This descent is well worth the slog to get to Parry Peak's summit.

Need to Know

Watch for moose.

Description

The descent features a choke near the top in most years; a high snow year may get rid of it. A low snow year may prevent a descent from the summit.

The chute is an incredible, sustained descent that opens up into an ultra fun apron before hitting the treeline. From there, it's a bit of a bushwhack back to US 40 and the Mary Jane access road. It's advised that you park one car down there and one at the Berthoud summit lot.

Fun mission! The CDT traverse is easy to follow. The descent was rocky on top but fantastic in the middle. — 5h 00m
