“A gentle ascent up a low angle hill gives way to a gladed ascent along an established trail”
— Gunks Jesse
Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Begin at the parking area for Mohonk Preserve at the end of Upper 27 Knolls Road. The trail starts at the very end of the parking area. Start up the trail away from the parking area and then traverse up with a small hedge row to your left. This continues up and crosses a main intersection and continues into the woods.
You'll come out of the woods with a small lake in front of you. You can go right or left, but taking a left is a bit faster. Continue up until you reach a trail that begins to loop around a ridge. From here you can choose a line and ski it.
