Berthoud Pass - approach to "The Fingers"

Eric Internicola
Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry

Description

A very slight ascent from the Berthoud Pass Parking Lot and a lot of traversing to access the cutes (read: Avalanche terrain). This dropped us into "The Fingers", but you can shorten the traverse slightly to access "The Knuckle", "The Choke", "North Chute" and "Sentinel Chute". Again, these are Avalanche Paths: avalanchemapping.org/images… so use your best judgement.

Please make sure you're at least aware of the avalanche conditions before you even consider heading over here: avalanche.state.co.us/
