Description

This is a long route requiring a day and some planning. It starts at a fire road accessing Gertrude's Nose but goes off trail 3/4 of the way to the top and traverses under the main pitch of Gertrude's Nose Direct Line. It continues up through a notch between Gertrude's Nose ridge line and Millbrook. It accesses Millbrook ridge then links up with some established cross-country skiing routes inside Minnewaska State Park.

The route follows the trails to a parking area near Lake Minnewaska. At this point you can choose to ski down to 44/55 or have someone pick you up at the parking area. Plan on having lunch out there. There is some rocky terrain near Millbrook that will require you to boot pack for awhile.
