Need to Know

A great post ski food option is the Traveller's Rest/Red Mountain Coffee at Snoqualmie Pass. They have excellent breakfast burritos!

Description

The ascent starts just next to the I-90 overpass over the Alpental Road. Be careful where you park so you are not ticketed or towed. Follow the summer hiking trail up through the woods and along a creek with gentle elevation gain. Watch out of holes so you don't fall in.

Pass below a waterfall/cliff band as you traverse left to access the Kendall Trees basin. Once you hit the basin you'll climb quickly up. While the upper ridge above tree line looks great, there can be significant avalanche danger there and wind loading, so use careful judgement if you continue on. Otherwise, take off your skins when you hit treeline and shred the descent. You can do multiple laps here in the morning for a dawn patrol and still get back to work in time for a 3/4 day of work!
