Description

Mavericks is a good half-day ski tour in GTNP. With a parking lot near the base of the peaks, it's a beautiful skin across the flats and then up-and-at-'em.

The popular Death Canyon trailhead provides a wide open trail toward the magnificent Teton Mountain Range. Turn off the trail at the open meadow and make your way toward the low-slung "diamond" face smattered with trees.

Ascend the climber's left ridge to the "summit" of the Maverick's face and enjoy gladed tree skiing and open powder sections to the base.
