Description

We drove in the night before and set up a tent in the parking lot just after the captain William more bridge. We did this mid October so temperatures where mild. We started out at around 5am and with our skis strapped on our backs and walked around 200m up the fault line until we reached a creek that trickled down from above, from there it was a steep bushwhack up the creek bed involving many encounters with devils club. once we reached a clearing we exited the creek bed although it likely would've been easier just to keep in it. from there we continued our hike until we reached another distinct fault line we followed that south for a bit until heading directly upwards. We followed the main scree valley until it started to narrow and turned of to the south to get on top of the ridge. From there the glacier was very visible and we followed the ridge to the toe of the glacier. there was a considerable amount of snow at the toe and we were able to change over and rope up. From there we skinned up the glacier staying close to the ridge to avoid the main viable crevasses that i had observed while on the glacier in the late summer. the snow on the first steeper toe of the glacier was amazing but as we continued up it became more wind effected and variable. It was an easy skin up to the top and views where amazing. On the way down we went not roped up and followed our skin tracks closely and descended the same way we came up.
