Overview

Hourglass is often the first chute to fill in and the last to melt out. The pinch point can be spicy early and late season but often goes just wider than a ski length.

Need to Know

Like other nearby chutes, care should be taken to identify the line prior, as some drainages end in cliffs.

Description

From the summit of the peak via the bootpack it can be tough to identify, but Hourglass is the second large bowl from above and is made up of a wide, rounded area that pinches down to two narrow chutes separated by a big boulder in the center.
