Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Eaglecrest can restrict uphill access in specific areas but this route should be designated for uphill travel most of the time.
Need to Know
Some of the route is on Eaglecrest, watch for other downhill skiers while in season. Cropley Lake can be sketchy early and late in the year.
Description
Start at the Eaglecrest parking lot and skin uphill to the base of the Ptarmigan chair. Then continue south following the edge of the Log Jam run. At the top of Log Jam and the beginning of the Raven run, head southwest across Cropley Meadows and past the pump house cabin.
Continue to head towards the base of Hogsback and then turn more south to head towards the bowl at the southern edge of Hogsback. Switchback up this bowl and then turn lookers right to go west and then north up the Hogsback ridge and to the summit.
People usually drop in before the summit in the saddle where this route ends.
