Need to Know

This ridge is named Patterson Ridge for Craig Patterson who died here in 2013 while working for UDOT. He was caught in a slide high on Kessler Peak and taken over the cliffs on the Kessler Slabs. Needless to say, this area is not for high avalanche danger days. You can ski here on red/black days, but remember Craig died here just doing his job. He was a pro and this is big-boy country.

Description

This is the approach to ski God's Lawnmower and/or Kessler Slabs. Take the road toward Donut Falls and stay right at the pit toilet. Travel the road past the big switchback and begin looking for the skinner up right and back toward the ridge.

Once on the ridge, stay in the trees until you can see God's Lawnmower looker's right and the slabs on your left. Multiple entrances from there or to the summit.
