Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Overview
Great ski line that should only be skied in the spring after consolidation.
Need to Know
If you are not a self-sufficient skier, not skilled in avalanche awareness, this is probably not the right ski for you. On the wrong day, this is a deadly ski line a long way from the road if you have issues.
Description
Assuming that you are already on top of Russell, No Name is the triangle face you can see on the far side on Oatmeal Bowl, on the left side of the cornice. Approximately 40 degree drop-in point, but can be easier if you move farther down the ridge to the skier's right.
If you ski the true No Name run, there will be a large rock low in the bowl to your right side.
Options for getting out of Oatmeal Bowl include skinning back up to the top of Russell or skiing out the bowl all the way to Highway 40 at Pumphouse Basin.
