Avalanche risk for Nov 26, 2017: Low

Generally safe avalanche conditions. Watch for unstable snow on isolated terrain features. Natural and human-triggered avalanches unlikely.

Big, beautiful, steep and long!

Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry

Description

Longer than most all the other runs off of B-Ridge. This may slow down a bit in a clearing where Powder-Bird probably does a pick-up, but I'm told you can ski it further down.

The run starts off steep and exciting in an open field of snow with a single tree obstacle to avoid, then bends left into a narrow passage, then bends right into another, this time less steep, open field of snow. I imagine the end of this run to be the run-out zone for many possible and converging slide paths above.

The awesome skier in this video is John. The crappy skier is me.

This is the lower half of BD1. I look fat in this video, because my climbing skins are inside my shirt. This was the second descent John and I did. John went on for a third while I recovered at the top. John breaks trail faster than I can follow it.
