A steep north-facing chute from Artist Point.

Tom Robson
Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry

Need to Know

This chute regularly loads with wind and storm slabs. Ski smart.

The biggest hazard, however, is human triggered avalanches. Be sure that other parties are clear before you drop in.

Description

The chute starts with a smooth roll over into very steep slopes; ranging from 38° to 45°, with sections of ~50° thrown in for good measure. The run drops you out at Bagley Lakes, where you have access to other amazing terrain.

This is really just one of the "Blueberry Chutes", the skier's left most of what is included in that area. It's the one that I usually refer to as "Blueberry 2" with "Blueberry 1" being the skier's right most chute in the zone that is directly below "10 Minute Trees". Jan 18, 2018

Thanks, Jason! I just edited the name to "Blueberry 2". Looks like that area is getting hammered right now... Enjoy it! Jan 19, 2018
