Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Note: This area was mined a lot back in the mid 1900s so there are several aged quarries around the mountain, so look out for old quarries/cliffs throughout the woods.
Description
From the main entrance to the high school, park on the right side of the road. Follow the snowmobile trail past the gate, and follow this trail up to the left up the hill. The trail remains pretty wide all the way up the hill and is pretty easy to follow. Near the top of the hill, there is a large rock across from the Fire Tower, and there is a small trail down from here with a cool cliff near the end.
Continue past the tower and into a more wooded section, until you reach the flat fire road; take a right here and continue from there down the hill in the trees along the left. This is a small hill with a few possible backcountry routes down from this hill. This is a great place to spend a couple hours close to home nordic skiing and going down the hill a few times.
