Description

Beginning at mile marker 20 on Cascade River Road, use the log to cross the North Fork of the Cascade River. Follow the obvious climber's trail up the mountain staying left of Eldorado Creek.

Around 4,000 ft, break out of the trees and cross the boulder field. Continue up hill to cross left over the ridge around 6,200 ft. Downclimb the other side of the ridge to drop onto the Eldorado Glacier.

At 7,500 ft, cross the basin. If you are overnighting, this is a nice place to lay a tent and ski the northwest-facing Eggplant. Otherwise, follow the ridge up the remaining 1,100 ft up to the summit.
