Need to Know

This is a steep and uncontrolled area, the ascent itself enters into avalanche terrain. There is no easy way down - all chutes from the top are steep and avalanche prone.

Description

Plenty of trail variation exists depending on snow conditions. The bootpack is seldom used until spring and what snow there is is often blown in with wind so you'll usually be breaking trail the whole way if not walking on loose rock. Aim for the remnants of the stone CCC hut on the summit, easiest ways through the last cliff section are just north of the hut.
