Amazing couloir dropping from Leavitt Peak.

Ian Bohannon
Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Access the couloir from Leavitt Peak. The Sonora Pass typically opens early summer. Prior to the road opening, snowmobiles are required to access this area. Wilderness permits are required if staying overnight.

Overview

From Leavitt Peak, drop the steep shoot down to the base of the bowl.

Description

Follow the Leavitt Peak via Sonora Pass Trailhead approach. From the top of Leavitt Peak, drop into the obvious couloir back to the base of the bowl. Some do laps before heading back to the car.
