Uphill travel is only allowed outside of business hours (before 9am and after 4pm). RLM will close uphill travel after heavy snow storms for snow safety and grooming. There is a red light on Ski Run Road before you get to the resort that is lit when uphill travel is prohibited.

Description

This is the preferred route for those wishing to ascent RLM via their own power, per the management. The ascent is a straightforward climb up a prominent ski run. This popular ski run is also popular as an uphill route and often sees many people skinning before lifts start to operate. Skinning is allowed all year outside of normal operating hours. The Hancock Hut on top of Grizzly Peak is open to the public and is a great location to warm up by the fire or get out of the weather before a transition.
