Easiest Way Down

This short descent has some of the only true backcountry skiing in Minnesota.

From the summit of the Finland Glades, you follow the sign saying Easiest Way Down. There is a mellow grade down to the top of your first hill, which is a sharp right off the track. There is short steep section and then a long flat traverse which leads to the main glade.

After this, it is a bit choose-your-own-adventure through the trees on a nice mellow grade. Finally, this leads to a little halfpipe area which leads to the base sign.

From here, you can either take a right and ascend back up to the summit, or go straight and head back to the Superior Hiking Trail. Both are well marked.
