Avalanche risk for Nov 26, 2017: Low

Generally safe avalanche conditions. Watch for unstable snow on isolated terrain features. Natural and human-triggered avalanches unlikely.

Pioneer Ridge is one of the less traveled and steeper connector trails between Alta Ski Resort and Brighton Ski Resort

Asher Margolies
Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry

Description

Pioneer Ridge lies directly between Alta's Supreme Chairlift and Brighton's Crest Express Chairlift. This route is not popular because of its elevation and snow conditions along the ridge.

There aren't many areas to ski from this ridge, but if you're looking for views, Sunset Peak and Pioneer Peak provide some spectacular scenery.
