Climb to reach the Woodland Trees.

Missy Thompson
Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry

Description

From the Lost Lake ascent, take the main trail to Devils Thumb rather than continuing on bypass trail. This area doesn't see a great deal of traffic, so you may not find evidence of a skin track. Generally head west up the valley and the Woodland Trees area will become visible. The ascent will steepen considerably as you reach your ski objective. The northeast side is steeper, making the central ridge line a preferable ascent.
