Update

An old avy path that makes for some great NE-facing tree skiing.

Need to Know

Parking is right outside the town of Frisco.

Description

An easily approached line just outside of Frisco. This northeast aspect of Mt. Victoria holds soft snow many days after the last snowfall and can always be counted on for the goods.

Follow meandering roads up through the forest until your trail crosses the old slide path by a stand of aspens. Follow this road up and it will take you to the saddle between Mt. Victoria and Mt. Royal. There are trail signs here for Mt. Victoria that will take you back to the south to climb the ridge to the top of Mt. Victoria.

The upper bowl/start zone of the old avy path will come into view (great thin trees), and that is your sign to rip skins. From there, staying to the skier's right side of the chute will provide some awesome tree skiing.

Very warm conditions. Snow was super sticky. The top snow was nicer, but because of the heat, we were getting snow-rollers coming down with us. 3.5mi
