Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Please respect nearby landowners and stick to the cleared trails.
Enjoy the glade!
Need to Know
Please don't hike and ski! We prefer skinners!
Park at the upper lot that accesses the Water Plant on Mountain Rd. From here cross the street and walk downhill (north) until you see a trail into the woods (left) marked with surveying tape. Skin uphill until you reach what used to be an old park bench and a Nalgene with log book. The park bench and Nalgene bottle are gone but the trail remains and can be skied from the peak. Turn around and enjoy the glade!
There are other trails cut into or around Guidos including bushwhacked snowshoe trails. As long as your are headed downhill there is a pretty good chance you'll emerge near civilization.
The uphill side of many trees are marked with wooden triangles with a green letter "G" carved into them for "Guido's." Most major obstacles have been cleared out over the years but be wary during lean conditions.
History & Background
It's been around since the late 1980's to my knowledge and maintained by anonymous locals... Keep it clean and respect the land. Leave no trace... this includes beer cans!
