Looking for Santa Fe and Taos area backcountry partners

Hi, I've had an intro to backcountry/AT class, have all the safety gear and know how to use it, and have had a few uphill outings successfully. I haven't taken a proper avalanche course yet, though I have done a lot of reading about avalanche safety in books. I intend to take the class at the start of next winter.

I am looking for experienced people/groups for backcountry adventures in the areas of Taos Ski Valley and Santa Fe. I am a ham radio operator and usually carry a handheld radio with me on outings, which can be used to find out what's going on in the area and call for help in an emergency.

I'm an expert downhill skier, 36 years old, and a father, so I lean toward caution and getting back to the car safely, but I'm comfortable in difficult terrain. I cycle about 6000 miles per year and am in great cardiovascular shape, so while I'm new at backcountry, I'm not likely to slow you down on the uphill unless you're super athletic.

Please drop me a line at 651-967-7961 if you would like to get together.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
