Tips for the Volkl Skin Pin system?

I used to have Manaslus with the very cool Dynafit skins. They were super easy to rip off without taking off the skis by popping the tip first, so transitions were quick. Last year I changed to Volkls and got their precut skins (not the vacuum ones!). They're great - well fit and super secure. But they're near impossible to rip without taking the skis off. The problem is the "skin pin" itself - super hard to turn it 90 degrees and pop it out of the hole from the other side while wearing the ski. Anyone have a trick or a modification to make this easier? I'm missing the Manaslus despite how little glue they had left at the end...

Funny I should stumble on this thread.  I haven't hung out here in quite some time.

Yesterday I received and installed a set of Black Diamond adjustable tip loops on a pair of pre-cut Coltex skins made for Volkl Nanuqs - for the exact reason you mentioned.
