RMNP - June Skiing Question

This upcoming winter will be my first back country year. I was up on Trail Ridge Road and saw some people pulled off to the side of the road to ski down towards Fall River Road towards one of their cars. I'm not very knowledgeable about the area, but I do want to put my Alpine setup on and ski down towards fall river for my first real BC run right now.

Are there reasons I shouldn't do what these guys did? Any Beta on runs? I'm also preeeeetty sure it wasn't Hidden Valley. They seemed closer to the Alpine Visitor Center.

They were likely on the north face of Sundance Mountain (Google it...I'll probably add it to the database at some point this summer). Essentially, it starts off fairly low angle and then ends up around 50 degrees. The lower part is definitely avalanche terrain (even during this time of year)...so I'd recommend against skiing it if you're not avi trained.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
